While Premiere Pro isn't necessarily optimized for MacOS, that is a considerable difference. Then again, a similar Windows system - Gigabyte's Aero 15x laptop - renders the file in just over 7 minutes. Both graphics cards and CPUs will scale back performance after heating a certain temperature to reduce heat and prevent damage. The MacBook Pro has a very thin unibody chassis, and it likely can't offer adequate cooling and heat dissipation to support a 6-core beast like Intel's 8950HK. To be clear this is not a knock against Intel but rather against Apple's thermal solution.
